WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS: Misiorowski and the Brewers beat the Rays 4–1 in Game 5 to win the first title in franchise history
The Milwaukee Brewers won the 2026 World Series, beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4–1 in Game 5 on October 28 at Tropicana Field to take the series 4 games to 1. It is the first World Series title in franchise history. Jacob Misiorowski threw 5⅔ scoreless innings, Cooper Pratt drove in two runs, and Trevor Megill got the final six outs. Catcher William Contreras was named World Series MVP.

How it happened
Milwaukee scored first again. In the second inning, Brice Turang doubled the opposite way off Drew Rasmussen, who was pitching on short rest, Sal Frelick was hit by a pitch, and rookie Cooper Pratt singled Turang home for a 1–0 lead. It extended Pratt's streak to five straight plate appearances with a hit, tying a World Series rookie record.
Jacob Misiorowski, touching 103 mph after the grounds crew patched the mound in the first inning, kept the Rays off the board. He allowed two hits and a walk over 5⅔ scoreless innings before calf cramping ended his night with two outs in the sixth.
David Hamilton drove in a run in the fifth, his RBI in a fourth straight World Series game, to make it 2–0. In the sixth, Christian Yelich was hit by a Garrett Cleavinger pitch, William Contreras doubled him home, and Pratt's sacrifice fly off Tyler Wells scored Contreras for a 4–0 lead.
Abner Uribe and JoJo Romero got Milwaukee through the sixth and seventh, and Trevor Megill took the last six outs. Liam Hicks and Chandler Simpson doubled off Megill in the ninth to make it 4–1, but Megill finished it off, and the Brewers were champions.
It is the first World Series title in Brewers history and Milwaukee's first since the 1957 Braves. The Brewers went 11–2 in the postseason after a franchise-record 103-win regular season. Contreras, who hit .381 with four RBIs in the Series and threw out runners behind the plate, was named World Series MVP, the first catcher to win it since Salvador Perez in 2015.
