William Contreras answers every time as Brewers beat Dodgers 7–4 for 2–0 NLCS lead
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7–4 in Game 2 of the 2026 NLCS on October 12 at American Family Field. William Contreras went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, including a 436-foot game-tying homer in the fifth and the go-ahead single in the sixth. Milwaukee's bullpen retired the final 15 Dodgers in a row, giving the Brewers the first 2–0 lead in a championship series in franchise history.

How it happened
Los Angeles led three times in the first five innings, and Milwaukee answered each time. After the Dodgers scored in the first, Contreras' RBI single tied it 1–1.
The Dodgers went ahead again in the third. In the bottom half, Jake Bauers worked a 12-pitch walk against Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Christian Yelich followed with a two-run, bases-loaded single that put Milwaukee up 3–2 and ended Yamamoto's night after 2⅔ innings.
Los Angeles scored twice in the fifth to lead 4–3, helped by Milwaukee's defense. Logan Henderson gave up four runs, only two of them earned. Contreras answered in the bottom of the inning with a 436-foot homer off Kris Bubic to tie it 4–4.
In the sixth, the Dodgers intentionally walked Brice Turang to pitch to Contreras, who singled in the go-ahead run. Turang and Bauers added RBI singles in the eighth to make it 7–4.
The bullpen took over from there. Dustin May, JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe and Aaron Ashby combined for five perfect innings. The Dodgers finished the night with three hits.
